Cobalt Response
Cobalt response is an MSA licensed
Stage Safety Unit (SSU) based on a land rover 130 with a 300tdi engine and is
run in conjunction with Solent Recovery (same unit).
As Solent Recovery & Cobalt Response
are one in the same unit, this allows us greater flexibility whenever the unit
operates as an SSU, making immediately available a very wide range of equipment
for stabilising and securing a casualty vehicle.
As an SSU, Cobalt Response is intended
to provide rapid Fire and Medical intervention and to maintain a standard of
scene safety until the rescue unit arrives where our assistance will then be
provided as required.
With base locations in
Buckinghamshire, Somerset and North Cambridgeshire, most areas of the country
are in easy reach for event support and keeping the costs as low as possible for
the organisers is a priority.
The
crew undergo regular training at a facility based in North Cambridgeshire under
the direction and instruction of rescue-services trainers and state registered
Paramedics. We also enlist the help with training from Fire & Rescue
instructor’s to be safe in the knowledge we can cope with any situation we may
come across.
All the crew have “other” permanent employment, and although we are all
volunteers at an “Amateur” level, we do pride ourselves on being able to provide
a professional service to events who have the foresight to utilise our skills.
